Doug Bales is responsible for the operations of Whitinger Financial Advisors. A native of Effingham, Illinois, Doug graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Doug spent several years working for an international insurance company in St. Louis and then in Indianapolis. Doug’s role was to provide estate and business continuation planning advice for insurance agents and their clients.

Prior to joining Whitinger Financial Advisors in 2001, Doug worked in the office of Intrepid Financial Planning Group, a Registered Investment Advisory firm, which is now owned in part by Whitinger Financial Advisors.

Doug’s responsibilities include areas of college planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. He also oversees all aspects of investment management services.

Doug is a member of the East Central Indiana Estate Planning Council. He has served in various roles with the United Way of Delaware County Campaign including the 2008 Campaign Chair. Doug is an active member of Muncie Sunrise Rotary and a past board member. He is also Board Treasurer for the Muncie Children’s Museum and Vice President, Board of Directors for Motivate Our Minds.
