Whitinger & Company was recently recognized by the United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties to receive two of their annual awards: The Spirit of United Way Award and The Rise to the Challenge Award. The event, held on Saturday, May 15 at Canan Commons in Downtown Muncie, recognized W&C for these two awards, along with other companies and key volunteers the United Way recognized as champions in the community over the past year.
The Spirit of United Way Award is given annually to one organization that has shown outstanding commitment and support for the community through its involvement with United Way. Whitinger & Company was recognized as a recipient who stepped up to lead in giving, volunteering and advocating with the goal to make the greatest impact possible. United Way recognized Whitinger, in this challenging year, as a company that was critical in making sure United Way was able to continue championing literacy work by providing volunteers and sponsorship dollars for their Muncie Reads and Summer Book Giveaway programs.
The Rise to the Challenge Award is presented to honor workplace campaigns that had a significant increase in employee participation over the previous year. This award took on a new challenge this year, in the wake of the pandemic. Whitinger & Company was recognized along with four other organizations this year.
