Whitinger & Company would like to congratulate Angie Everroad, Processing Manager, for her recent completion of the 10-week Academy for Community Leadership course.
The Academy for Community Leadership (ACL) is a 10-week program that takes place each fall and is intended for people who want to be more involved in community efforts in Muncie & Delaware County. The program is offered by the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and Ball State’s Office of Community Engagement.
Each week features a panel of community leaders/experts that speak to the history of Muncie, local government, the role of religion in the community, business and economic perspectives, the arts, education, and health services.
Throughout the ten weeks, Angie attended a city council meeting and completed a group project with seven other class members by volunteering at the food pantry at Inside Out. Angie spearheaded the group presentation by creating a PowerPoint and completed the course by writing an essay to share her experience.
“This class made me a better citizen of my community and a proud member of it,” Angie stated. “I truly feel that it should be offered to all high school students as a college credit course. Imagine a community full of proud, civic-minded citizens!”
