January 21, 2025 – Muncie, IN – Regional public accounting and advisory firm Whitinger & Company has announced the addition of five interns to their professional staff in Muncie & Fishers. All five will spend their spring semester working in the firm’s tax division.
As Whitinger Interns, each student will work with other professionals and partners in the firm to prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses. Under the supervision of Mentors, they will collaborate with staff members to complete financial statements, journal entries, account reconciliations, and depreciation schedules. Overall, each student will apply what they have learned in the classroom to solve real client issues.
Landon Fowler is a dedicated and driven individual from Pendleton, Indiana, currently residing in Fishers with his wife and their energetic mini Goldendoodle. He is on track to earn his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana State University this spring, with plans to further his education by pursuing a master’s degree in accounting.
Landon’s commitment to academic excellence is evident through his multiple appearances on the Dean’s List at Indiana State. During his educational journey, Landon has developed a strong foundation in accounting principles while gaining valuable practical experience as a quality assurance officer in the auto finance sector.
Trinity Gray is an ambitious and detailed accounting student from Frankfort, Indiana. Currently enrolled at Ball State University, she is pursuing a degree in Accounting with a minor in Financial Planning. Trinity’s commitment to academic excellence is matched by her passion for practical experience in the financial sector.
At Ball State University, Trinity has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and a drive for knowledge. Her active engagement in the Accounting Club and Delta Sigma Pi, the premier professional fraternity for aspiring business professionals, showcases her commitment to networking and professional development. Trinity has gained valuable firsthand experience through an audit internship she completed with the State of Indiana Board of Accounts.
Audrey Grimm hails from Winona Lake, Indiana, and is an outstanding finance student at Taylor University, where she is set to graduate this spring with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Throughout her academic career, Audrey has cultivated a robust understanding of financial management and accounting principles through multiple internships.
In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Audrey has been a prominent member of the Taylor University women’s soccer team for four years. Her commitment to excellence has earned her recognition as a Scholar Athlete and All-League performer on multiple occasions.
Ben Kissel is a native of Wabash, Indiana, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting with a minor in human resource management from Ball State University. He completed an accounting internship with The Honeywell Foundation in 2023, where he analyzed data, managed financial activities, and ensured accurate reporting. He also interned with Whitinger in 2024. Upon graduation this spring, Ben will begin the Master’s in Accounting program at Ball State.
While attending Ball State, Ben has been consistently recognized on the Dean’s List, received the Ken White/Ernst & Young Accounting Scholarship, the Carl R. George Scholarship, the Niel C. and Karen M. Ellerbrook Accounting Scholarship, the Whitinger & Company LLC Grant-In-Aid, and received the Ball State Scholars Award.
Haley Young is an accomplished and dynamic accounting student from Muncie, Indiana. She is currently pursuing her degree in Accounting and Business Analytics at Ball State University, where her commitment to academic excellence has been evident. A graduate of the esteemed Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, Haley has also earned a Microsoft® Excel Fundamentals + Data Analytics Certificate, showcasing her proficiency in key technical skills essential for today’s data-driven business environment.
In her academic journey, Haley has gained invaluable experience as an appointment-based, drop-in, and embedded tutor. She was selected as one of just two students to pilot the innovative embedded tutor program at Ball State. Her efforts in this role were recognized with the Advanced International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC), reflecting her dedication to student success and mentorship.
