January 8, 2025 – Muncie, IN – Regional public accounting and advisory firm Whitinger & Company has announced the addition of Carmela Lopezfilio as Staff Accountant in the firm’s Muncie office.
Carmela Lopezfilio is an emerging accounting professional with a strong educational background and diverse experience for her age. She graduated from New Castle High School and continued her academic journey at Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting in May 2023. She further advanced her expertise by obtaining a master’s degree in accounting in July 2024.
During her time at Ball State, Carmela completed two valuable internships with Whitinger in the spring semesters of 2023 and 2024, where she gained firsthand experience and honed her skills in a professional setting. Since graduation, she has been diligently studying for the CPA Exam, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence.
As a Staff Accountant at Whitinger, Carmela plays a vital role in various aspects of the firm, specializing in assurance and tax services. She is responsible for conducting audit fieldwork, preparing tax returns, and engaging in tax planning and research for individual and business clients. Her diligence and analytical skills contribute significantly to the quality of client service. Additionally, Carmela is a proud member of the Indiana CPA Society.
