June 29, 2026 – Muncie, IN – Regional public accounting and advisory firm Whitinger & Company has announced the promotion of Douglas Cassel to Senior Accountant.
Cassel joined Whitinger & Company as a Staff Accountant in 2022. He is a graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with a triple major in Accounting, Finance, and Risk Management & Insurance, along with a minor in Financial Planning.
As a Senior Accountant, Cassel prepares income tax returns for businesses and individuals and contributes to the firm’s assurance services for small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Over the past year, he has taken on increased direct client responsibility, demonstrating the technical ability and professionalism needed to serve clients across a range of needs.
Cassel is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and is currently pursuing his CPA license. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, working on cars, completing home improvement projects, and playing video games.
