Whitinger & Company LLC is proud to announce that Ellen Skinner, a staff accountant at Whitinger & Company, recently completed all required Indiana exams and certifications to achieve her CPA license.
Ellen, a native of Mooreland, Indiana, started with Whitinger & Company as a summer intern in 2017. She joined the team as a full-time staff accountant in September of 2018, where she is primarily responsible for accounting, consulting, and tax compliance services for businesses, individuals, and non-profits.
Ellen graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University in 2017, achieving a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. She continued her education at Ball State University and achieved her Master’s Degree in Accounting with a 4.0 GPA in 2018. During her time at Ball State, Ellen was active with Beta Alpha Psi and inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. She is also a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institue of Certified Public Accountants.
Ellen completed the final aspects of the tedious four-part CPA certification while working full-time with Whitinger & Company and raising a family. Outside of her career accomplishments, Ellen is also an active member of her church and the local community in Daleville, Indiana.
“I don’t see this accomplishment as the end to my learning process, but simply as the next step to move myself forward in my career and allow me to be a better resource for my clients and team. I am incredibly thankful to the firm for taking a leap for me and encouraging me through the process of achieving this significant milestone,” stated Skinner.
