October 20, 2025 – Muncie, IN – Whitinger & Company LLC proudly announces that Carmela Lopezfilio of the firm’s Muncie, Indiana office recently passed all required Indiana exams and received her CPA license.
Carmela is an emerging accounting professional with a strong educational background and diverse experience. She graduated from New Castle High School and continued her academic journey at Ball State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in May 2023. She further advanced her expertise by obtaining a Master’s degree in Accounting in July 2024.
During her time at Ball State, Carmela completed two valuable internships with Whitinger, gaining hands-on experience and honing her skills in a professional setting. Since joining the firm full-time in January of 2025, she has been diligently studying for the CPA Exam, underscoring her commitment to professional excellence.
As a Staff Accountant at Whitinger, Carmela plays a vital role across the firm, specializing in assurance and tax services. She is responsible for conducting audit fieldwork, preparing tax returns, and engaging in tax planning and research for individual and business clients.
