Cole hails from Muncie, Indiana, and is a dedicated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting from Ball State University. Cole is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. In addition to his CPA credentials, he has also earned the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) certification, underscoring his commitment to professional development.
Cole possesses a robust skill set in tax preparation, proficiently handling a diverse array of tax matters. His expertise encompasses individual, nonprofit, business, personal property, C Corporation, S Corporation, and partnership returns. Notably, he has substantial experience with Form 1065 partnership tax returns, specifically structured for Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.
His professional journey with Whitinger originated in 2016 as an accounting intern. Cole further refined his skills through another tax internship with SKS Accounting and Consulting in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2019, he joined Indianapolis-based Dauby O’Connor & Zaleski (DOZ), where he spent seven impactful years, advancing to the role of Tax Manager. He recently made a strategic decision to return to Whitinger, bringing with him a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of leadership.
