Whitinger & Company Welcomes Spring 2023 Interns January 19, 2023

Regional public accounting and advisory firm Whitinger & Company has announced the addition of four interns to their professional staff. All four will spend their spring semester working in the firm’s tax division.

Keith Hartley is a native of Portland, Indiana where he graduated from Jay County High School.  He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ball State University and will graduate in May of 2023.  He plans to further his education by pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting at Ball State in the fall of 2023. During his college career, Keith has been recognized on the Dean’s List for five semesters, received numerous scholarships for his efforts, and leads by example as the Secretary of the BSU Accounting Club.

Michael Lee is a native of the Indianapolis area, but now calls Elwood his home where he graduated from high school in 2019.  He is actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ball State University and will graduate in May of 2023.  He plans to further his education by pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting at Ball State beginning in the fall of 2023. While attending Ball State, Michael has been recognized on the Dean’s List for four semesters and he is a member of the National Technical Honor Society.

Carmela Lopezfilio is a New Castle native, a graduate of New Castle High School, and will receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ball State University in May of 2023. Since the beginning of her college career, Carmela has received honors from the Miller College of Business at Ball State on numerous occasions and has been recognized on the Dean’s List for seven semesters.

Colton Smith is a Yorktown native, a graduate of Yorktown High School, and a student at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Economics with a minor in Financial Planning from BSU in December of 2023.  Throughout his college career, this well-rounded individual received the Presidential Scholarship and has been recognized on the Dean’s List numerous times.
